GENEVA, Ohio -- The Augustana Vikings women's track & field team earned its highest finish ever at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships over the weekend, ending in fifth place with 31 team points.
Charlotte Frere began the three-day meet with 10 points after winning the national title in the discus.
Heather Michalski added four to the team's total with her fifth-place standing in the javelin. On Saturday,
McKenzie Reser contributed 12 between her two events, notching second in the 400m for eight team points and fifth in the 200m for four.
Lina Maatouk placed fourth in the 800m to post five points to the team's total.
The fifth-place standing is the highest ever for the program in either indoor or outdoor and the third time earning a top-10 position all-time in outdoor. As a squad, the Vikings boasted seven All-American performances, the most for an outdoor season since 1993.
