ROCK ISLAND -- Several individuals of the Augustana women's track & field team improved upon their marks at the final regular season meet of the season on Wednesday and Thursday at home.
On Wednesday,
McKenzie Reser moved up to the top 10 in the 100m after her 11.81 time in prelims, and followed it up with a .01 second improvement in the finals for a new meet record and No. 7 ranking in Division III. Reser also posted a lifetime best in the 200m with a time of 24.05, which is now good for No. 8 in the country.
Lina Maatouk moved up to third in Division III in the 800m with a new meet and facility record time of 2:06.72, while
Emma Odle had a big showing in the 3,000m steeplechase to leap into the top 10 nationally. Her time of 10:41.06 was good for first in the event and is a season best. The 4x400 team also earned a season best to move to No. 22 in the nation with a time of 3:47.10.
In field events,
Laina Nelson saw movement nationally and catapulted into the top 10 after her second-place distance of 42.56m in the javelin.
Heather Michalski also finished in fourth with a mark of 41.19m.
Charlotte Frere had a monster effort in the discus on Thursday to extend her cushion atop the national rankings, posting a lifetime best distance of 53.10m The mark is third-best ever in Division III.
The Vikings saw 12 personal records across the two-day meet. Augustana will await the selections for the upcoming NCAA Championships set to be released on Friday.
