NORMAL, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings men's golf team finished in a tie for 16th out of 38 teams at the highly-competitive IWU Invitational over the weekend with a total of 607 and round scores of 300 and 307.
Out of 238 total golfers, Adam Soczka and Kevin Cortez led the team in a nine-way tie for 18th with a total score of 147 to sit four over par. Soczka hit 74 on day one and 73 in round two, while Cortez had round scores of 71 and 76. Drake Stoudt followed in a seven-way tie for 28th after hitting 71 and 77 for a total of 148 to sit five over par.
Other scores for Augie were Jacob Brokaw (152), Patrick McGrath (152), Alexandre Thery (156), Noah Ehlenbach (157), Sam Evenson (157), Oscar van Dongen (164), and Aiden Salcedo (168).
As a team, the Vikings were the second-highest CCIW team, finishing one stroke ahead of Millikin and two ahead of North Central. Augie's B team came in 28th place overall.
The Vikings will be back in action on April 11-12 for the Blueboy Invitational.
