GALESBURG, Ill. -- Members of the Augustana Vikings track & field team competed at the Knox Open/Drake Alternative on Saturday. The men and women combined for a total of 38 personal records and 13 event wins.
On the women's side,
Carson Kekelik was the champion of the 100m with a time of 13.26, good for a personal best.
Ryan Jednachowski won the 1,500m run with lifetime-best time of 5:09.91, nearly six seconds faster than second place. The team also saw second-place finishes in each of those events, with
Rachael Linskey clocking a time of 13.97 in the 100m and
Sammy Lehr posting a time of 5:15.45 in the 1,500m. Jednachowski also claimed second in the 800m at 2:35.00, good for a PR.
Lauren Oelke also collected a pair of lifetime-best performances in both the 100m hurdles (15.89) and 200m (27.69).
In field events,
Rhiannon Marshall was the winner of the high jump with a mark of 1.50m, while
Laina Nelson won the javelin with a distance of 39.46m. Kekelik earned her second first-place effort on the day with a 4.80m mark in the long jump, and
Cora Heller won the pole vault after clearing 3.35m.
Liz Hayes' mark of 10.35m in the triple jump was also good for first place.Â
For the men,
Conner Calhoun earned first in the 400m hurdles with a PR time of 57.74. He also took second in the 110m hurdles with a lifetime best of 15.87. Four Vikings placed in the top six in the 800, led by
Ben Milner's second-place time of 2:00.56, good for a PR.
Christian Haywood was the winner of the 1,500m race after clocking 4:07.21, while
Andrew Johns,
Jose Gomez, and
Jaden Gocken all placed in the top five in the same event.Â
In field events,
Landon Wierenga took first in the hammer throw with a toss of 52.34m. The mark places him No. 65 in all of Division III this season. Wierenga also claimed third in the discus and second in the javelin.
Caden Eller was the winner of the high jump after posting a season best of 1.85m, and also won the long jump at 6.53m.
Dakota Straight and
Noah DeMarco were the top two in the pole vault after each clearing 3.95m.Â
