PLATTEVILLE, Wis. -- The Augustana Vikings women's track & field team saw four top collegiate finishes over the weekend at the UW-Platteville Invite.
Lina Maatouk was the winner of the 800m run after posting a time of 2:13.80. Her success was joined by teammate
Cora Deemer, who was the top collegiate finisher in the 100m dash with a time of 12.37.
In field events,
Charlotte Frere was the winner of the discus event with a distance of 48.24m, nearly two meters further than second place.
Heather Michalski shattered her previous season-best mark in the javelin, winning the event with a mark of 43.13m.
Laina Nelson also earned fourth in the javelin with a throw of 37.54m, while Michalski snagged an eight-place standing in the shot put.
Elsewhere on the track, the 4x400 relay team ofÂ
Jordyn Van Santen,
Cora Deemer, Maatouk, and
McKenzie Reser were the second fastest collegiate finisher in the race with a time of 4:00.14. Reser also finished fourth in the 200m dash after clocking 25.04.
Kira Nelson placed seventh in the 400m hurdles at 1:07.13, while
Emma Odle took 19th out of over 130 runners in the 5,000m.Â
The Vikings will be back in action for the two-day Meet of Champions at home beginning on Thursday.
