KENOSHA, Wis. -- The Augustana Vikings men's track & field team finished in third place over the weekend at the CCIW Indoor Championships, the highest finish for the program since the 2021-22 season.

Joe Langridge set a new school record in the event with a time of 10:09.46 to earn the conference title.
Elsewhere, the Vikings saw numerous All-Conference performances on day one, includingÂ
Magnus Wells' second-place standing in the weight throw after his toss of 18.50m was good for a new personal best.Â
Landon Wierenga also earned All-CCIW honors after his fifth-place mark of 16.59m.Â
Grant Ackard also posted an All-Conference run in the 5000m after finishing sixth with a time of 15:18.73.Â
Dakota Straight finished in a tie for eighth in the pole vault after clearing 4.01m.
On Saturday, the success continued, beginning with
Mike Hudson's win in the heptathlon. Hudson, who led in first after Friday's events, won the conference title by over 300 points. Teammate
August Haak also garnered All-Conference in the heptathlon after finishing in seventh.Â
On the track, Gibbons earned All-Conference in the mile run with a time of 4:22.52 to come in eighth. In the 55m hurdles, the team saw two All-CCIW efforts, with Banks collecting third with a time of 7.90 and
Bayley Pierce in seventh with a mark of 8.32. In the 400m event,
Ben Char placed fourth with a time of 50.49 to earn All-Conference honors, while
Daniel Prochaska also had a fourth-place performance in the 800m after clocking 1:57.65. Char also earned second place in the 200m with a mark of 22.44. In the 3000m run, Langridge found success with a second-place effort after posting a time of 8:21.83.Â
The 4x400 relay team of Banks, Char,
Beans Rice, and Prochaska claimed third place with a time 3:23.44.
In field events, Wells placed third in the shot put after posting a distance of 15.14m.
As a team, Augie posted 84.33 points. Pierce was named the recipient of the CCIW's RESPECT Award.Â
The Vikings will be back in action next weekend for the Wartburg Qualifier.
