Reser claims school record in 200m; Vikings win 12 events at SAU Tuneup

DAVENPORT, Iowa -- McKenzie Reser highlighted a successful day for the women's track & field team at the SAU Tuneup on Saturday, setting a new school record in the 200m as one of 12 event wins for the Vikings on the day.

Reser clocked a time of the 24.93 in the 200m dash to grab the top spot in Augie record book and win the event, also finishing in first place in the 60m dash with a time of 7.67. Cora Deemer also finished in second in both of those races, posting times of 7.75 in the 60m and 25.69 in the 200m. Jordyn Van Santen was the top collegiate finisher in the 400m with a time of 1:00.19, while Lina Maatouk was the winner in the one-mile race with a final time of 5:06.71. Elsewhere, Lauren Oelke won the 60m hurdles after crossing the finish line in 9.73 and Marie Weber was the top collegiate finisher in the 800m. Madison Wies won the 1,000m by over six seconds after clocking a time of 3:12.28.

The 4x400 relay team of Van Santen, Weber, Deemer, and Wies won the event with a time of 4:13.24, nearly 17 seconds faster than the group in second. 

In field events, Rhiannon Marshall was the winner of the high jump after clearing 1.40m. Rachael Linskey claimed first in the long jump with a mark of 4.90m, while Elizabeth Hayes won the triple jump after a distance of 10.48m. Heather Michalski and Bridget Wunderlich came in first and second in the shot put, with Michalski tossing a mark of 12.91m to win it. Michalski and Wunderlich also grabbed the top two spots in the weight throw, while Cora Heller tied for first in the pole vault after clearing 3.27m.

Between the Augustana men's and women's teams, the Vikings boasted over 85 lifetime bests.

The teeam will be back in action on Friday for the Solomon Butler Classic.
