WHITEWATER, Wis. -- Joe Langridge set a new school record in the 5,000m on Friday as members of the Augustana track & field team competed at the UW-Whitewater Midwest Elite meet.

Langridge posted a time of 14:18.37 in the 5k race to set a new program record, breaking 28-year long mark of 14:21.52 set by Ambo Bati in 1996. Langridge came in eighth in the highly-competitive race, out-doing his previous personal best time of 14:37.32. Grant Ackard was the next Viking to place after clocking 15:19.28 in heat four.

On the women's side, Keira Nelson had a 28th place standing with a time of 18:47.34.
