WHITEWATER, Wis. -- A total of 42 lifetime bests were had at the Squig Converse Invitational on Friday for the Augustana men's track & field team. The Vikings finished in fifth place out of 12 teams in attendance and saw four top 10 performances all-time.
Joe Langridge came in first place in the mile run, ending just off his personal best with a time of 4:20.17.
Joe Gibbons and
Emiliano Almendariz also scored points for the team in the mile after finishing in the top eight.
AJ Banks continued his momentum in the 60m hurdles, adding onto his No. 4 all-time mark with a lifetime best time of 8.52 to finish in fourth place.
Ben Char took fourth in the 200m to earn points for Augie, clocking a personal best time of 22.56.Â
Daniel Prochaska also scored for the Vikings following a sixth-place standing in the 800m and a time of 2:00.94.
The men's 4x400 team of Char, Prochaska, Banks, and
Jad Massouh finished in second place after a lifetime best time of 3:27.46.
In field events,
Magnus Wells was the runner-up in the weight throw, tossing a top-25 NCAA Division III throw of 17.70m, which is good for a lifetime best. The toss also puts him No. 8 all-time in the event in Augustana program history.
Caden Eller hit a lifetime best in the high jump and earned points for the Vikings following a mak of 1.88m.
As a team, the Vikings ended with 47 points, just three points out of fourth place and three ahead of fellow CCIW foe Carthage.
