IOWA CITY, Iowa – A handful of Vikings traveled to Iowa City on Friday for the Larry Wieczorek Invitational.
Lina Maatouk competed in the 600m run, placing seventh overall with a time of 1:33.99 on the banked 200m track at the University of Iowa. This time, a personal best for Maatouk, replaces her own school record of 1:36.11 previously set at the Viking Intrasquad meet in December. Maatouk's mark of 1:33.99 earns her fifth place all-time in the event at the Division III level.

McKenzie Reser,
Cora Deemer, and
Shakira Wade also found success on the track in the 200m dash, all running season bests. Reser crossed the line in 25.19, Deemer in 26.90, and Wade in 27.30. On the men's side,
Ben Char ran a season best in the 200m with a time of 22.65.
In the throwing ring,
Magnus Wells had a successful day in the weight throw, finishing just out of finals with a season best 17.00m (55' 9 ¼"). Wells' mark lands him at No. 26 on the current national standings list.
The Vikings will be back in action on Saturday, January 25 at the MoCo Mercer Challenge in Dubuque, Iowa.
