GRINNELL, Iowa -- The Augustana Vikings men's and women's swimming & diving teams completed the two-day Grinnell Invitational on Saturday. The men came away with a second-place finish out of nine teams, while the women claimed sixth out of 11.

"This weekend was a tremendous competition for our team," said head coach Dan Lloyd. "We trained extremely hard going into this weekend and were very broken down. To swim as fast as we did is a huge step forward in our plan as we prepare and stay focused on the CCIW Championships in February. I could not be more proud of the heart and mental toughness we showed this weekend in our races. We fought through a lot this weekend and our extremely difficult training over the last several weeks showed in many ways as we truly stepped up when it mattered the most in races."
