DECATUR, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings men's golf team sent its B team to the Butts Classic at South Side Country Club on Friday and Saturday, resulting in an eighth place finish.

The Vikings moved up one spot on day two after improving their score by 13 strokes. Ryan Crowe led the squad in a tie for 21st overall after finishing 18-over par. Dylan Malecha, who competed individually, was the next highest finisher for Augustana, ending in 29th at 22-over. Rodrigo Faundez-Sanchez was next in 33rd after improving his score by two strokes on Saturday. Tyler Bayston also cracked the top 40 as an individual competitor, while Steven Kitzman, Teague Mayer, and Andrew Reishus all earned top 50 showings.

Augustana will be back in action Wednesday for a JV dual against St. Ambrose.
