SHERRARD, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings men's golf team concluded the two-day Fyre Lake Invitational in second out of 14 teams, with a total score of 616. Augie's B team finished in a tie for third place with a final score of 621.  

Alexandre Thery, Adam Soczka, and Sam Evenson led the Vikings with a six-way tie for third with a final score of 151. Thery hit 77 in round two, while Soczka shot 78 and Evenson hit 76. Patrick McGrath followed in 11th, moving up seven placements with a round score of 76 for a total of 153. Kevin Cortez notched a top-15 finish in a tie for 14th with a score of 155 after hitting 79 on the day.

Other finishers for Augie were Luke Petersen (158), Jacob Brokaw (158), Thomas Fornelli (159), Noah Ehlenbach (159), Aiden Salcedo (159), Oscar Van Dongen (165), Drake Stoudt (171), Jakob Stefanowicz (172), Elias Evander (175) and, Justin Goebel (177).

The Vikings will be back in action tomorrow for day two of the Butts Classic in Decatur.
