METAMORA, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings split events on Wednesday, with athletes competing at the CCIW Preview and a dual versus the Carl Sandburg Chargers.
Augie sat in second place at the CCIW Preview with a final score of 310, sitting just a few shots behind Elmhurst in second. The final score for the Vikings is the best outcome of the year. Georgia Holt led the way with a second-place individual finish shooting an even par of 71, which is good for a career best. Abby Buechele secured a career-best of 76 to tie for sixth, while Kelsey O'Connor and Alexus Morrow rounded out the scoring for Augustana with scores of 81 and 82.
Over in Galesburg, the Vikings won their matchup against Carl Sandburg with a total score of 370, just three shots ahead of the Chargers. Karli Borsch, Ellie Jahn, and Kristin Rundle tied for second with a round score of 90, while Lydia Hall followed in a two-way tie for fifth with a score of 92.
Other individual finishes for Augie were Grace Kemp (98) and Ciera Krogman (101).
The Vikings will be back in action on September 20-21 for the Midwest Region Classic In Kansasville, Wis.
