DAVENPORT, Iowa – The Augustana Vikings took a small squad of athletes to the Frigid Bee Invite on Saturday. Among the tribe, Sylvester Brady took home seventh place in the 60m Dash with a time of 7.25 seconds. Brady had run 7.24 seconds in the prelim round to qualify for the finals.
 
Also in seventh place in the 5k was teammate Joe Langridge, who crossed the line in 14:45.83. Fellow seniors Finbar Martin and Grant Ackard were 10th and 12th, respectively, with times of 14:49.14 and 14:54.99. The efforts by Martin and Ackard were personal bests over the 5,000m distance. Martin landed himself in sixth place all-time at Augustana and Ackard earned the tenth place all-time spot. Langridge was only seven seconds off his personal best, for which he already holds second all-time at Augustana.
 
In the field events, Magnus Wells and Landon Wierenga competed in the throws. Wells took third place in the shot put with a toss of 14.33m (47' ¼") and second place in the weight throw – 16.25m (53' 3 ¾"). Wierenga was third in the weight throw with a toss of 16.09m (52' 9 ½") for a new personal best.
 
The Vikings will be back in action on December 29th in Athens, Greece for a competition against the Greek Federation team.
